Here is a rundown of my work experience, education, and professional skills.
Professional Experience
Telltale Games: Current gig since June 2008!
Content and Community Coordinator — Web Team
Responsibilities include:
Building web pages from design source files, such as custom store product pages, franchise homepages, and many others (HTML/CSS/Photoshop).
Writing, designing, and building HTML email newsletters and promotions.
Creating game guides and other content for the site (HTML/CSS/some jQuery).
Keeping company store product content up-to-date.
Maintaining the community blog.
Managing the official company forums.
Building and maintaining the company's official presence on social networking sites (primarily Twitter and Facebook).
Web Producer — Global Web Services
Responsibilities included:
- Managing email marketing campaigns for regional marketing teams.
- Managing community forums.
- Providing reports on site traffic for all eight of our websites, as well as the forums.
- Undertaking several search engine optimization projects on the sites.
- Updating/Editing web content (HTML/CSS/Textile/Photoshop).
- Deploying code changes to the production servers (Ruby on Rails, Subversion, SSH).
- Running queries against our master database (MySQL, FreeBSD command line).
- Providing quality assurance/testing for many of the code changes to our site, as well as the new booking engine in development.
Writer, News Updater
Responsibilities included:
- Updating the news on the main page of this gaming website.
- Writing a number of featured articles about upcoming games.
Writer, Editor, and News Updater
Responsibilities included:
- Ensuring that site content was kept current and accurate.
- Publishing news and feature articles related to games released by LucasArts Entertainment Company.
Administrator
Responsibilities included:
- Overseeing a very large web-based community forum focused on the discussion of games released by LucasArts Entertainment Company.
- Establishing new forums/sub-forums when there was a perceived need for them.
- Designing templates for different discussion forums.
- Making sure that the discussions remained harmonious, and the forums were well-moderated by active and responsible community members.
- Making sure the website was running properly from a technical standpoint, especially during heavy site traffic periods.
